TreeBronze Satin 6.5
Jeff Ocheltree has quite a history, both as a drummaker and one of the first drum techs. He has worked with countless drummers, including Carter Beauford, Danny Carey, Jason Bittner, Billy Cobham, Steve Smith, Lenny White, and MANY others. He is well known for his metal drums, notably the Phantom Steel and Spirit of 2002 Paiste drums. This drum carries on that tradition. Jeff first started working on these pieces after NAMM 2008 in January. He wanted to carry on what he had started with his previous drums but with an entirely new alloy. Working with us here @ Grand Central, we finally have come up with a finished product and are now in production. There will only be a certain number of these made every year and these are the first of that run. IT WAS RECENTLY FEATURED IN THE MAY 2009 (BUYING GUIDE) ISSUE OF DRUM! MAGAZINE. The Jeff Ocheltree TreeBronze snare drum is a sand cast (not spun) bronze shell. Using this centuries old method, they are each hand finished here on site. Each one goes through 20 hours of finishing & handwork, right down to the assembly and tuning. This run is for the 6.5 X 14 size, and is done in the "Natural Bronze" finish. The logo and engraving enhance this drum and truly make it unique. It features a Nickelworks strainer, die-cast brass hoops, Puresound snares, Jeff Ocheltree designed lugs, Ocheltree Signature "Old School" Attack heads, and each one is signed by Jeff himself. A certificate of authenticity is included also, with date of completion and serial number. The sound itself is like no other drum. Unlike other metal drums, it has a full sound with projection and volume. Not tinny, but with a broad range. Thanks to the shell construction it is EXTREMELY responsive and can handle the lightest playing as well as go into 5th gear. There is simply nothing this drum can't do. It will come shipped in a molded plastic hard case, fully insured. I have other finishes that can be done also. Please visit www.drumtree.com for other photos and info on Jeff himself. Be one of the very first to own this true work of art, which is what Jeff originally envisioned. A musical insturment unlike any other, that used old world bronze sculpture methods to create a modern sound. Please EMail or call 800 600 5106 for any info or woth questions. Thanks!!
