The new Sterling by MusicMan basses have been in the works for a while, after being very heavily requested. Their goal was to reporduce all of the quality, playability and sound of the original MusicMan pieces while keeping them affordable. Close your eyes and you'd be hard pressed to tell the difference. New for 2011, the Ray 34 Classic Active Series basses deliver old school vibe and looks for the vintage enthusiast. Lightweight slab bodies (no belly or forearm contours), glossy amber tinted neck that features a narrow 38 mm nut width, 34??? scale and 21 thin vintage style frets, & the finish is a hard glossy coat that exudes the vibe and look of an older instrument. It also has the Music Man designed 2 band active preamp that features volume, treble and bass controls & the preamp and pickup were re-voiced for a more organic feel and are noise free. It'll come to you NEW W/ WARRANTY, NOT AS A SECOND  & features a lightweight swamp ash body, 34" scale maple neck, rosewood fretboard w/ 21 frets, nstural headstock, 38 mm nut, open gear tuners, adjustable truss rod that's accessible without removing any compartments, Music Man designed 2 band active preamp (volume, treble and bass controls) and pickup, MM designed bridge, and it's done up in their Mint Green finish w/ White pickguard.   Their name and reputation speaks for itself.
