Robert Villwock, "Big Bob" R
& R Productions
CD Packaging & Audio Packaging

Villnock, who is known professionally as "Big Bob", has an
unusual talent. Although he has no formal music training, he can play any instrument he
picks up. Bob displays his talent as a "One-Man-Orchestra" on his CD's and
tapes. He's a seven piece swing band on one cut, a Dixieland quartet on the next and on
the third serenades himself, himself, and himself as a barbershop quartet.

But Bob's talents don't end there. Each piece is meticulously constructed
by re-recording each of his individual parts until the complete group is assembled. All of
this was impossible before loss-less digital recording. Bob records on a Roland 1680 16
track digital workstation. Each track has 16 virtual tracks for recording multiple takes.
Occasionally he adds synthesized sound produced from his computer. "This is heaven
compared to the analog days", Bob adds |

Bob prepares his CD and Audio Cassette packaging in Microsoft
Publisher using NEATO's FREE templates. He prints the photo quality NEATO die-cut labels
and inserts in full color on his HP 890C inkjet printer. |

Bob's latest CD, "Big Bob's More Musical Magic" won the Fall 98
Label/Mania Competition. Bob says: |
 |
"This CD is the result of a lifetime project, much of it an uphill
battle with technological limitations. Of course, almost every musician's dream (mine
included) is to someday produce a recording that will sell millions of copies. but, the
practical reality is usually a low volume, 'do it yourself' run (at least at first)" |
 |
"In the past, such low volume runs have been synonymous with inferior
quality audio, media, and packaging, But, thanks to today's affordable technology, I was
able to produce a high quality recording. Of course, I also wanted to 'release' my first
CD with a really first class package, but, for the sort of thing I had in mind, the
initial setup costs would have been prohibitive." |
"Thanks to NEATO's very high quality, complete line of 'do it yourself' labels,
tray liners, booklets, CD labeler kit, etc., I was able to produce a very attractive
package not only for my CD but also for my cassette at an affordable price. Your product
line is absolutely first-class and very easy to use. Thumbs up for NEATO!" |
