Tiriandas
This is a church shaker from the Dominican Republic, that offers both a unique and
versatile sound. When shaken, the player can achieve a sound that is like that of a
tambourine and maraca combined. When two are shaken, it is very easy to play triplet
patterns, and other rhythmic patterns that can fit just about any style of music. The
Caribbean Rhythms tiriandas come in different shapes, with each shape offering a unique
sound.
Suggested retail price $ 24.95 per pair
Cascadas
This is the authentic waterfall instrument. Made of Caribbean sea pods that are cut
to precise specifications, when the cascade is shaken from side to side consistently, it
sounds exactly like a waterfall.
Suggested retail price $ 99.00

Authentic Gourd Maracas
In Spanish, maraca is a kind of plant that grows a special kind of gourd, known also
as the maraca gourd. Maracas are the name given to the seeds of these gourds, which are
reinserted after the gourd has dried and been hollowed out. These are as authentic as
maracas get.
Suggested retail price $ 20.00/pair
Brazilian Style Chequeres
These differ from the African shekere by the design of the beads. African shekeres
use less beads in their design and are tied loosely at the bottom of the gourd. The
Caribbean Rhythms chequere has a denser bead pattern, and utilizes a closed loop at the
bottom, yet the player can still fit a hand between the beads and the gourd for afuche
style playing. While the gourds on the Caribbean Rhythms chequeres tend to be slightly
smaller than their African counterparts, they have a louder, cleaner sound due to a hard
lacquer on the gourd and superior beadwork.
Each chequere is signed by Luis Miņer; an expert chequere maker from Haiti, and
