Caribbean Church Tambourines
Finally, a user-friendly, great sounding skin tambourine that you won't put your
hand through while you're playing. We use the skins from the belly of the goat, because
this part of the skin has a fatty membrane on its underside which gives the skin added
elasticity when it is struck. The result is a long lasting tambourine for just a little
more money than the skin tambourine that lasts a weekend. The jingles are hand hammered
from tin and have a very dry unique sound. These tambourines are based on the pandeiro as
they come from a Latin country (Dominican Republic) and come in 3 sizes.
Small 6" suggested retail $ 17.95

The Guira
The Caribbean Rhythms guira comes in three sizes, SuperColossal®, Colossal®, and
the Guira Pequena®. Each guira is made of stainless steel, each ridge in the guira is
hand punched with awesome precision and has a perfect comfort handle for easy playability.
But the sound quality of these guiras is unequalled anywhere. The super-colossal
size is so loud, it can be played in an electric band without the use of a microphone. The
colossal, which is the traditional size played in the merengue band can also peel paint
off a freshly painted house, while the guira pequena is for those players who prefer a
little more civility and structure. All come with a 10 prong scraper and a lifetime
warranty. That's right, as long as you don't drop it off an airplane or run over it with a
truck, if the Caribbean Rhythms guira ever fails to hold up, we will replace it free of
charge. The last guira you'll ever have to buy. And our guiras are as authentic as they
get, handmade in the Dominican Republic, by the Guira family!
