Instructions for Disc Repair

Scratched discs can be completely resurfaced with a patented process that removes the scratch from the disc by carefully removing a thousandth of an inch of plastic from the damaged surface of the disc, leaving the disc clean and smooth. Your disc will look and play just like new again. Details of how this process works can be found on the Disc Shield and Resurfacing Fact Sheet.

We must caution that not every disc can be repaired by this unique process. If the disc is chipped, cracked, warped, split or burned, it is damaged beyond repair. Please recycle. If the disc is scratched on the label side, it is damaged beyond repair. You can tell by holding the disc up to the light and looking for pinholes or lines in the disc. Please do not send any of the above discs to us, we cannot help them. But please do send us your discs that have scratches on the bottom plastic side.

Carefully pack your discs in their jewel boxes, rental cases, jackets, or packing material and send them to our address for repair. Please enclose an inventory list of all your discs, with your personal or company information and payment included. Add shipping charge for number of discs sent (from chart below). AVS is not responsible for shipping loss or damage. Be sure to insure and request proof of delivery.

Your discs will be resurfaced, tested and returned to you in the same box or jacket. If the disc cannot be repaired, you will be notified with a defective slip and a coupon for a free disc repair.
